Welcome to the Stars of Summer International Vocal & Piano Competition & Festival in Cleveland Cultural Gardens!
Born in the unique community of Cleveland Cultural Gardens with more than 100 years of history and 76 years of tradition of holding the
One World Day festival of cultures of more than 40 ethnic groups, our
competition develops the idea of Peace Through Mutual Understanding and rapprochement through art.
We are pursuing several goals.
One of the main ones is the support and tribute to music teachers as an international community and the opportunity for students and amateurs to perform in front of a broad audience of visitors to the Gardens.
In its very essence being international and providing equal opportunities for participants, our contest is a hybrid one.
We use modern technologies to develop traditions.
All participants record and send videos for judging.
Winners of 1st,2nd, and 3rd places obtain the right to perform in concerts in the Gardens, in person, and on record.
Videos of the participants are shown on the Contest channel.
Competition categories:
World Composers includes a Baroque, Classical, Romantic,
and Modern repertoire of any composers’ nationality.
American Composers contains works by both living and immortal composers.
Concerto is a piano concerto chosen by the organizers to be performed with an orchestra. In 2022, this is the Ukrainian Concerto by A. Peskanov.
Special Prizes:
Liliana Colage Italian Music Award - piano or vocal piece by an Italian composer. Vocalists who want to win a performance with The School of Cleveland Ballet should download from our page RECORDED, the MP3 track of R.Leoncavallo Mattinata, which has been chosen for the choreography.
Peskanov Music Award - performance of a piano piece by A. Peskanov, solo and concerto.
Ohio Savings Bank, a division of New York Community Bank Piano Concerto award- a movement from the Piano Concerto of the year 2022: Ukrainian Concerto by A.Peskanov
Alleycats & Aristocats - piano or vocal piece of any style dedicated to the cat's themes.
Cleveland Ballet Award - piano or vocal piece on the dance themes.
Vocalists compete in the following categories:
Classical vocal (no microphone, piano accompaniment, orchestra, instrumental ensemble)
Microphone (all genres require a microphone. Accompaniment can be recorded on audio or live accompaniment can be used).
Participants may compete in one or more categories.

For 76 years, the Federation has held the Festival on the last Sunday of August.
We are holding two concerts as part of the actions in the Gardens. This is the Gala concert a week before the festival, 2022 August 20, and the show of the laureates on the last Sunday of August during the One World Day festival.
Deadline for submitting applications: 1 August.

Judging
----------------------
The judges evaluate the performance of the participants on a 100-point system.
The judge may invite a participant to his event. Such an invitation gives 1 point + to the total amount of points.
Thus, the total score can exceed 100.
The Grand Prix of the competition is won by the participant who scored the maximum number of points exceeding 100.

The following are some of the milestones that the CMA has achieved due to the support of generous donors and supporters:
